A Study in Erasure

Through erasure and re-arrangement, I performed an act of phenomenological reduction on a page of Edmund Husserl’s “Ideas 1”. This process functioned as a generative means of engagement with this difficult and seemingly deliberately opaque text. To get to the essence, one must strip away everything, including the self.
